Welcome to S24 TV Limited

We're here to put Scotland centre stage

S24 TV Limited own and operate The Scotland Channel which seeks to put Scotland centre stage around the world including here at home.

At present, Scotland is poorly served by existing broadcast media with just 8.1% of programming in Scotland currently devoted to Scottish domestic audiences. What's more, Scotland's media landscape is dominated by mostly English and non-UK owned mainstream media with the vast majority of its output being English-centric.

Now we've nothing against English shows on English TV, but in Scotland, we feel viewers should be able to see positive Scottish content about their own country and we aim to fill that gap because, at present, Scottish life and culture is being largely downgraded and overshadowed.

Launched on August 1st, 2024, The Scotland Channel has an exciting range of programmes about Scotland, her people, culture and achievements that we hope will appeal to audiences around the world. After all, Brand Scotland is loved internationally and aside from expat Scots, there are also millions of people with Scottish ancestry or people who simply love Scotland, a small country with a big story to tell.

A second channel with a more current affairs-based focus is planned at a later date.

So join us on our exciting journey by subscribing to The Scotland Channel's YouTube page, or, if you share our vision and would like to be involved, by getting in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you!

Who are S24 TV Limited?

S24 TV Limited is registered in Scotland, company number: SC787277 and was set up and solely financed by Peter and Bobbie Jeal. Based in Glasgow's West George Street, the aim of the business is to provide positive media for Scotland as London-controlled mainstream media doesn't. In fact, UK mainstream media gives very little coverage of Scotland compared to many other countries around the world, around 8% compared to 50% in Germany for example.

Although Peter is originally from London and born to non-English parents from France and Germany respectively, he has always been passionate about Scotland since an early age and moved to Scotland nearly 30 years ago.

His wife Bobbie is from West Lothian and both are directors of S24 TV Limited which owns and operates The Scotland Channel.

Why S24 or Scotland 24 TV?

The original plan was to start a 24/7 linear channel called Scotland 24 TV, S24 TV for short. However, the way people are consuming television is rapidly changing and moving more towards a 'catch up' or 'on demand' model where people watch what they want when they want rather than watching live TV. The Scotland Channel is an on demand digital channel which streams all its shows through its own YouTube channel allowing us to access millions of viewers with Smart TVs as well as people viewing our channel on their mobile or cell phones, tablets or home computers.

Everyone today has a digital TV, so even if its not a Smart TV, you can still watch The Scotland Channel on it. For information, click here: https://www.thescotlandchannel.tv/smart-tvs.

Will S24 TV become a channel?

The plan is to launch a news and current affairs channel called Scotland 24 TV which will aim to provide daily news from across Scotland from a Scottish perspective 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

However, launching a news channel is not easy nor profitable, so this project will depend on a range of factors including the long-term profitability of The Scotland Channel. However, we are always interested to hear from anyone who is interested in exploring the possibilities of working with us to achieve this goal or from investors who are keen to see Scotland regain control of the message which is currently controlled by the government of another country, England.

Scotland gets an especially raw deal with news and current affairs coverage on UK/English media in Scotland, and because there is no truly Scottish broadcast TV in Scotland, the message about Scotland is usually negative designed to portray Scotland as weak, poor and totally reliant on support from the government of England to survive.

The opposite is true. Scotland is an extremely wealthy, resource-rich country, but that wealth is being extracted from Scotland by the London government to ensure that England has access to, and control of, all of Scotland's huge natural resources and revenues from all of Scotland's exports for its own use. That's why Westminster continues to keep a firm grip on Scotland, refusing to allow Scots the right to decide their own future or have control on their own country's resources, especially after the result of the 2014 independence referendum was way closer than they expected despite them controlling the entire process and media message.
